One must get through the streak of excesses
You are a lonely child lost in the haze
Everyone around you disappeared in a haste
You are left alone to watch the vanishing horizon
Inside a renovated house you’re in an empty prison
Hope also left like your friends indeed
You are left alone in you greatest need
Your lament has been drowned in the noise of the strongest
Whoever will notice the plight of the smallest?
Yet I am assured there’s someone who listens
On the opposite riverbank watching across a great distance
When expected the lease he will fill up the void
Change it all and you’ll sing overjoyed

Najwyższa rozkosz twórcy: w duszy doskonały,
Sen widzieć piękna, co się doprasza żywota,
Krwią mu do głowy bijąc jak w spiżowe wrota,
By z niej na świat wyskoczyć jak kształt bóstwa biały.
Lecz najstraszniejsza klątwa, co się spiętrza w szały,
Rozpaczy: kiedy bijąc w głaz ciosami młota,
Widzi, że ramię krótsze jest niźli tęsknota,
A skrzydeł nie ma glina, która rządzi ciały.
I przeto dusza twórcy smutna jest po wieczność,
Bo sama jest rozkazem twardym jak konieczność,
By tworzyć i rozwiewną marę wcielać w stałość.
Lecz przed ramieniem, co chce objąć bóstwa kibić,
Staje nieunikniony mur: niedoskonałość,
Kiedy mistrzowi winą najcięższą jest: chybić.
